HOORAY! Happy 2014 and welcome to the GEEKSOAP store re-launch! I hope you and yours had a magical holiday season and that 2014 has started off well. As I mentioned before we shut down for the holidays, a complete site overhaul was long overdue. Countless hours were spent over the break getting the shop ready for its new layout debut, and now that it’s here… what do you think? I’d love to hear your feedback in the comments, or you can email me if you run into any issues or quirks I may have missed in testing!
Before we look ahead to 2014, I want to take a moment to thank you all again (and again) for making 2013 so incredibly successful for GEEKSOAP. The company is coming up on its four year anniversary next month and I’ve always experienced a holiday rush in the past, but nothing like this. Nothing prepared me for the overwhelming amount of love, support, and orders that I experienced at the end of 2013. I was selling out faster than I could stock on everything, and you were so patient and understood that I was doing my best as the single employee of GEEKSOAP to process and make as much soap as humanly possible to fulfill as many orders as I could. I received tons of positive emails as your orders arrived, or as your recipients opened their gifts. Every single email made. my. day. It’s why I do what I do, and I cannot thank you enough for shopping small and supporting my handmade business. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making 2013 the most successful year for GEEKSOAP ever!
The start of a new year has so much potential. To celebrate a new year, a new shop layout, and the re-opening of the store after the holiday break, use coupon code happy2014 at checkout, good for 20% off your entire order until February 1. Use it to nab products you may not have been able to order in time for Christmas, use it to treat yourself after surviving the holidays (you deserve it!) or use it just because. I know it’s only January, but it’s not too early to think ahead to Valentine’s Day next month… and I’ve got the perfect way to profess geek love that you can snag on special all month long. So what else is on the way for GEEKSOAP in 2014? A new soap inspired by The Neverending Story will debut soon, as well as a Hunger Games themed set. Speaking of things on the way, the expected arrival date of our geeklette is February 25. Just as a heads up, the shop will close down temporarily when she is born so that we can adjust to life with baby #2. I’ll be sure to keep you in the loop, and I don’t expect the downtime to be long. Thanks for your understanding as our little geek family expands. We can’t wait!
